| Scope: |
To provide a forum for technology professionals who have corporate responsibility for ICT infrastructure and resources to discover, review, share and evaluate techniques and strategies for ensuring the appropriate use of the ICT infrastructure and resources they manage.

Objectives

To develop and maintain professional standards in the ICT industry. |
| |
To review and evaluate current ICT management techniques |
| |
To develop where appropriate new management techniques that will facilitate improved performance and return on infrastructure and resource investment. |

To disseminate such information to the industry as a whole through the publication of white papers, reports, researched documents, etc. |
| |
To encourage the continuing proliferation of ICT practioners in this area by establishing a close working relationship with degree granting tertiary institutions. |

To provide the JCS leadership with the guidance needed to influence Jamaica 's ICT management culture |
Composition and Structure
CIO FORUM will consist of:

All members must have titular corporate responsibility for the ICT infrastructure and resources of the organization that they work for.
An executive committee will lead it, with a chairman as head. Interested persons may join CIO FORUM by registering through the JCS and completing the prescribed registration process.
The committee will consist of:

Two (other) members of CIO FORUM and/or sub committee chairmen. |
Initially the membership committee acting on behalf and with the advise of council will appoint an executive committee for the first year of CIO FORUM's operations.
Thereafter elections to fill the individual posts on the executive committee will be held annually on the anniversary or at the meeting immediately after the anniversary of the forming of CIO FORUM.
Voting for each post will be by single ballot and decided by a simple majority.
Individuals may serve up to three (3) successive one year terms, on the executive committee.
The following are eligible to vote:

students from any accredited tertiary institution, who are registered members of CIO FORUM. |

persons deemed eligible by the JCS council |
The JCS Council retains the right to terminate the operations of CIO FORUM at its discretion.
At the executive committee's discretion, sub-committees may be formed to carry out specific functions in fulfillment of CIO FORUM's objectives.
All Sub-committees will report directly into CIO FORUM's executive committee.
Chairmen of sub-committees will be appointed by CIO FORUM's executive committee.
CIO FORUM will meet periodically to review and plan for its activities, pursuant to its objectives.
Meetings of CIO FORUM's sub-committees will be held at the discretion of the sub-committee chairmen and its members.
Responsibility
- Publish a quarterly newsletter, preferably electronically
This newsletter will include:
- CIO FORUM's plans and activities for the coming quarter.
- The outcome of the activities in the quarter just completed.
- Sub-committee reports.
- Notification of upcoming activities for CIO FORUM and the JCS.

Presents its achievements at least once per year to the JCS membership and the general public.

Provide the JCS council with technical advice on matters within its domain.

CIO FORUM's Relationship with JCS
CIO FORUM is a sub-committee of the JCS's membership committee.
The chairman of CIO FORUM sits on the membership committee and must be a full member of the JCS.
All members of the executive committee must be members of the JCS.
The membership committee is a standing committee of the JCS council. Its chairman is an elected member of the JCS council.
